YAMAHA has cut the price on five of their models for 2012, including the flagship YZF-R1 superbike.

The new-for-2012 R1, that features traction control, has a saving of £1340. Dropping to £11,999 from £13,399 on the previous model.

Alongside the YZF-R1, the other Yamahas to receive price cuts are; the YZF-R6 now £8,999 from £9,399, the Super Ténéré down to £11,999 from £12,999, the Fazer8 ABS now £7,999 from £8,999 and the FZ8 now £6,999 from £7,999.

Yamaha has made the price revisions in recognition of the 'competitive nature of the market place'.
