Ducati V4 launch on September 7th

Well, if that’s what Ducati means by ‘the sound of a new era’

Ducati V4 launch on September 7th

DUCATI has revealed that it’s having an event on the Thursday before the Misano MotoGP round – and it seems near-certain that it will be the launch of the much-anticipated V4 road bike.

The firm sent press an invitation to come to the Ducati team’s hospitality at Misano at 12.00pm on September 7th. The MotoGP round takes place on the 10th September. The invitation simply says: “Save the date: the sound of a new era is coming.”

The suggestion of a different sound and a new era leaves little doubt that it refers to the new V4 road bike, which has already been confirmed by Ducati and was spotted testing recently in near-finished form. It will replace the 1299 Panigale (pictured, in high-spec 'R' form) as the firm's flagship sports bike.

Whether the event turns out to be a full reveal of the bike or merely a teaser for the machine remains to be seen. The specific reference to the sound suggests it could be the latter… Are we just going to be played a recording of the new bike’s engine noise?
