MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster
Could it be MV's answer to the Diavel?
ACCORDING to the list of homologated 2014 bikes published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, MV Agusta will be offering a ‘Brutale 800 Dragster’ next year.
The constantly-updated list doesn’t offer much insight into new models, since most aren’t added until after they have been officially shown to the public, but the Brutale Dragster doesn’t ring any bells. It’s powered by the same 798cc triple as the normal Brutale 800, so presumably the ‘Dragster’ tag will apply to a bike with visual changes rather than any extra performance to warrant such a name.
The EPA information shows that the bike meets the same emissions standards as the normal Brutale 800, without having to be re-certified, which means its engine can’t have been altered in comparison to the stock bike. The document lists the power as 92kW at 11600rpm.
Here at Visordown HQ we think the new 'Dragster' could be to the F3 800 what the Ducati Diavel is to the 1198. No doubt all will be revealed when MV shows its 2014 line-up in Milan later this year, but until then we’ll be kept guessing as to exactly what the ‘Dragster’ Brutale will be.
