Spotted: Ducati Streetfighter 848
848-engined Ducati Streetfighter spied outside the factory gates in Bologna
DUCATI are set to increase the Streetfighter range with an 848-engined naked, as the new model makes an appearance outside the factory gates in Bologna.
Expected to be formally unveiled in September, what separates the 848-engined Streetfighter from the current and larger 1099cc counterpart is a five-bolt rear hub, as used on the 848 Evo, instead of the regular six-bolt hub, the front Brembo Monobloc calipers replaced by a radial caliper set-up and the same upside-down Marzocchis that are found on the Monster 1100 Evo.
The preview of an 848 Streetfighter may signal the start of Ducati optimising their engines and frames to create interchangeable models to boost their expanding line-up. A Multistrada 848 could be next to compete with the Tiger 800 and F800GS.
