Round the world then nicked in Britain

Adventurer's machine stolen back home after trans-global expedition

A MOTORCYCLIST who rode from Edinburgh to Sydney, Australia, had his trusty trans-global machine stolen after it returned back home.

Adventurer and author Gavin Francis, 32, completed a round-the-world bike trip from Edinburgh to Sydney two weeks ago but his 1982 BMW R80RT was pinched from outside a friend's house after the trip was completed.

Mr Francis said: "I've parked that bike in Beruit, Amman and Delhi, and it spends one night in Edinburgh and gets stolen."

Francis has since been informed by Police that the bike has been found. Sadly the thieves have heavily vandalised the BMW and it now looks set for the scrap heap.
