Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX revealed
It’s Kawasaki’s new 200hp supercharged sports-tourer
KAWASAKI stole the show at Eicma in Milan today with this new supercharged sports-tourer, the Ninja H2 SX.
Three years after the introduction of the Ninja H2, the new model uses a ‘second generation balanced supercharged engine,’ according to Kawasaki.
It brings the ‘excitement and characteristic power delivery’ of a 200hp engine to the sports-tourer category making the new Ninja H2 SX the ‘ultimate’ machine of the class, the firm says.
Detailed specs were yet to be confirmed but Kawasaki said the 998cc second-generation super-charged engine was developed for ‘real-world street use, offering a sensational linear power output in the low-mid-range’
Claimed weight is 260kg.
The firm says it’s suited to long-distance riding and offers better fuel efficiency than Z1000SX.
It’s got a rider-aids package including an inertial measurement unit, cruise control and Kawasaki ‘Cornering Management Function’.
The trellis frame has a payload limit of 190kg, allowing for a pillion and panniers, while a ‘longer wheelbase’ means the supercharged engine can still be fully exercised with ‘stability and confidence at high speeds’.
Kawasaki also revealed a Ninja H2 SX SE (letters not to be muddled) edition, with added extras including a TFT dash, cornering adaptive lights and an up/down quick-shifter.
The firm said: ‘Leave everything you thought you knew about sports touring behind with the supercharged Ninja H2 SX. Surge across continents, along autobahns and through mountain passes. Go further, go faster. Ninja H2 SX – Supercharge Your Journey.’
Okay then.
