A new sports bike is arriving in Europe via China, as the Mitt 775R is confirmed with a very enticing price tag

Mitt may be a relative unknown in the UK, but it is making headlines in Europe thanks to its cut-price sport bike, the 775R.

The bike isn’t just in the news because of its €7,495 (£6,300), but also because it seems to offer a lot of tech and features for not a lot of money. Power comes from a 730cc, in-line twin-cylinder which pumps out a claimed 78.9bhp at 8,000 rpm and 53lb ft of torque at 6,900rpm.

The engine is suspended in an aluminium girder frame, which is connected to USD forks, adjustable for spring preload, and a mono-shock with a progressive linkage at the rear - again, preload adjustable. The braking system comprises a pair of Brembo four-piston calipers at the front, which act upon 320mm discs, which are governed by a two-channel ABS from Bosch.

Up in the cockpit, the little Mitt seems to be pretty well equipped, with a neat-looking TFT dash highlighting the dash. Within that five-inch TFT which features Bluetooth connectivity, you even get keyless ignition, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a USB port for on-bike charging.

Quite possibly the bike's best feature, though, is its styling. Mitt made the sensible choice of outsourcing the styling and design of the bike to Europe thanks to the Italian firm Marabese Design. Alongside the styling, the engineering of the bike also has European connections, thanks to Suter which assisted Mitt with the engine.

As it stands, Mitt only has dealerships in Germany, France, Portugal, Sardinia, Spain, and Germany and there is no word on whether the brand wants to expand into the UK market.
