2010 Most Important...Kawasaki

The important bikes from Kawasaki in 2010 and they don't all come in green

Kawasaki Versys

Cost £5,999 (ABS - £6,399) Engine 649cc parallel twin Power 63bhp Wet weight 206kg

The surprisingly good Versys gets a sharper look with revised mirrors and a new style stacked headlight and side cowls. The taillight is the same as the Z1000’s. Wow!

Kawasaki Z1000

Kawasaki Z1000

Cost £8,499 Engine 1043cc inline four Power 137bhp Wet weight 218kg

A new, bigger capacity motor and 30% stiffer frame means the new Z1000 is no longer all show and no go. Funky fork covers are possibly overkill but who could argue with the optional extra snakeskin style seat cover... who indeed...

Kawasaki ZX-10R

Kawasaki ZX-10R

Cost £10,199 Engine 998cc inline four Power 186bhp Wet weight 208kg

The 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R is a brighter prospect but in 2010 the ZX-10R recieved subtle fine-tuning with improved fuel mapping and a tweaked gearbox for smoother changes. The front cowl is redesigned to mimic the ZX-6R while the exhaust can’s tip is less contrived.

Kawasaki D-Tracker 125

Kawasaki D-Tracker 125

Cost £2,849 Engine 125cc single Power 10bhp Wet weight 114kg

A funky supermoto for learners with an air-cooled 125cc motor, electric start and even inverted forks and petal brake discs. Cool for kids. The KLX125D is more off-road styled but essentially the same.

Kawasaki GTR 1400

Kawasaki GTR 1400

Cost £12,699 Engine 1352cc inline four Power 153bhp Wet weight 300kg

Kawasaki’s rocket ship tourer gets Kawasaki’s first true traction control system (KTRC) as well as a neat fuel economy mode that automatically leans off the fuel to boost efficiency. The screen is also taller and fairing improved.
