VIDEO: US police officer attacked by brothers after motorcycle chase

Charges could 'weight at 10 years if found guilty'

DRAMATIC FOOTAGE taken on police vehicle's dashcam shows a state trooper being attacked after chasing down a motorcycle thief.

Recorded in Berrien Township, Michigan, the shortened clip shows part of a 50 minute long chase lead by officer Garry Guild for Michael Barber - who can be seen attempting to escape on a stolen bike. Barber initially appears to slow down on a slip road then drastically darting back on to a motorway, causing him to crash. As Guild attempts to wrestle the evader to the ground following the crash, his brother, Travis Wise arrives in another vehicle before joining the tussle and appearing to choke Guild. Moments later two Good Samaritans pull over to aid the officer as the siblings are both arrested at the scene.

The duo both face a number of charges, the most serious being Assault Strangulation, which could see Wise face a ten year sentence if found guilty.
