The 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V4 is Closer Than Ever to Panigale

Ducati has taken the covers off its 2025 Streetfighter V4, which is now closer in performance to the new Panigale V4 than ever before

Hot on the heels of its V2 baby brother, the 2025 Streetfighter V4 has arrived, and it’s closer to being a naked Panigale V4 than ever before.

When Ducati unveiled its seventh-generation Panigale V4 at the annual World Ducati Week event earlier this year, there were some key changes including a new single-sided swingarm, while the Italian brand’s superbike-class-leading aerodynamics were on full show with new integrated winglets that are full of MotoGP technology.

Now it’s the turn of the 2025 Streetfighter V4, which continues to be derived from the Panigale V4. It's closer than ever to its fully-fired sibling as the engine is exactly the same, as is the chassis and electronics package.

Ducati says this is the first time in its history that it's transferred everything over from the Panigale V4 to a naked bike “without sparing anything”. Consisting of a power-to-weight ratio of 1.13bhp/kg, which has been made possible by a lighter engine that’s Euro5+ compliant, the new Streetfighter V4 features Ohlins Smart EC3.0 suspension and a new Race eCBS braking system, in order to make it more effective on track than ever before.

The Desmosedici Stradale engine is very closely derived from the Ducati MotoGP engine, sharing numerous technical solutions. It features a 90-degree V4 with desmodromic valves, a counter-rotating crankshaft and Twin Pulse timing, making it sound very close to the prototype racer which won 19 out of 20 MotoGP races in 2024.

Onto the figures, the Streetfighter V4 S delivers a whopping 214bhp at 13500rpm which is just two less than the Panigale V4, which is down to differences in the intake, while it also produces 88.2Ib ft of torque at 11250rpm. The power can rise to 226bhp if the Akrapovic racing exhaust system is added.

The alternator and oil pump are the same as those adopted on the Panigale V4 R. The gear drum is the same system that’s included on the Superleggera V4. Another first for the new 2025 Streetfighter model is the variable-length intake trumpets, amassing a value of 25mm in the short configuration and 80mm in the long one.

A completely new full-LED headlight has been introduced, giving it an aggressive look, while also retaining its iconic dual-light feature. At the rear, the full LED light is divided into two parts. Its 16-litre tank is more elongated towards the rear than the previous model, with a shorter license plate holder. The pillion seat is positioned lower than the 2024 Streetfighter V4 as well.

The forward-slanting biplane wings have been a distinctive feature of the Streetfighter V4 since its inception. However, they are now more effective than before thanks to an increase of 17kg of downforce at 167mph.

A subtle but interesting change compared to the previous Streetfighter V4 is the placement of the handlebar, which has been moved back and is closer to the rider by 10mm, while the footpegs are lower and more forward, meaning they are also positioned 10mm further inward.

Like the new Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 also mounts Brembo Hypure front brake callipers. Lighter by 60 grams per pair compared to the Stylema of the previous bike, Ducati claims they will provide increased performance. On the front are four-piston callipers with two 320mm semi-floating discs. On the rear, there’s a two-piston calliper and 245mm disc.

The Streetfighter V4 S receives Ohlins across the board thanks to a NIX-30 fork with Smart EC 3.0 control system, an Ohlins TTX 36 shock absorber again with Smart EC 3.0 control system and an Ohlins steering damper. The V4 model gets all the same standard equipment except for the entire suspension set-up. It features an Ohlins Shock absorber at the rear, but at the front is a 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork that’s fully adjustable.

Also new is the 6.9-inch dashboard which includes an 8:3 ‘aspect ratio’ to offer enhanced readability. Along with the new and improved dash display are other key features such as updated Traction Control, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Ducati Power Launch DVO, Engine Brake Control and Ducati’s quickshifter 2.0 system.

The new V4 will cost £22,895 whereas the V4 S model is slightly more expensive at £24,995. Both models will land in dealerships from March 2025.
