Bike Theft Gang That Included Boy Aged 14 Charged
The group is made up of five men and four teenage boys and between them, they have snatched nearly 70 motorcycles
Derbyshire police officers are celebrating this week, after a prolific theft gang has been charged although none
The gang, made up of five adult males and four teenagers, the youngest of which is just 14 years old, has been stealing motorcycles across the region throughout 2023. The spate of thefts, totalling 69 bikes, led to a large-scale investigation by Derbyshire police officers, who were thankfully able to pin down the culprits.
The gang was eventually tracked down, meaning Brandon Curtain, 19, Ryan Dawson, 29, Kye Freeman, 18, Preston Stone, 18, and Alex Teck, 18 have all been charged with conspiring to steal a motor vehicle. Some of the four teenage boys involved in the crimes, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged, with the 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds being charged with theft of a motor vehicle and handling stolen goods. Derbyshire police haven’t made a statement on what has happened to the two other teenagers involved in the crimes, one aged 14 and the other is 15-years-old.
Charged they may have been, but behind bars, they are not. Sadly for Derbyshire bikers, it seems as though the entire group has been released on bail and ordered to return to Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on October 14, 2024.
