Bimota KB998 Kawasaki-Powered Sport Bike Revealed
Hot on the heels of the WorldSBK announcement, Bimota’s new KB998 road bike is announced at EICMA
Bimota has used the EICMA bike show in Milan to reveal its latest offering, the Kawasaki ZX-10R-powered KB998.
Featuring the same inline-four cylinder engine as found in the Team Green sports bike, the KB998 goes in a very different direction with its frame and bodywork.
The big talking point with this bike, and its WorldSBK sibling that will be piloted by Alex Lowes and the BbKRT (meaning Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) in 2025, is the frame. Bimota isn’t in the business of making tacky looking frames, and the item found on the new KB998 is an absolute stunner.
Featuring a hybrid design, we find a CNC machined billet rear section that mounts the swingarm to the engine and rear suspension. From there forwards through we find a tubular frame running up to the headstock. That headstock carries some beautiful billet aluminium triple clamps, which in turn grasp a Showa fully adjustable fork which is matched by a Showa fully adjustable rear shock at the back.
Braking is taken care of by Brembo, and the switchgear and TFT is all carried over from the ZX-10, which makes us think the riding modes might be too. Sadly we can’t get any confirmed specs from the show - not for want of trying, mind. We guess that the engine is the same as the Kawasaki (as is the case with the WorkdSBK) meaning engine performance should also be the same.
We can though tell you when it comes to finding the best looking sports bike of the Milan bike show - you can find it on the Bimota stand in Hall 11!
