Want a handy saving on the recently updated Trident 660? This early lightly used version is worth a look

The Triumph Trident 660 was already one of the best entry-level ‘big’ bikes around, with gorgeous retro styling, approachable handling and a lovely three-cylinder engine. But thanks to changes for the 2025 model year, it looks to be better than ever.

Despite the price remaining on the very affordable end of the spectrum at just £7,895, the 2025MY Trident 660 has gained a standard-fit quickshifter, cruise control and uprated suspension. The colour palette is new, too - we’re particularly big fans of the Cosmic Yellow.

If you can do without all that, though, there are big savings to be had on the used market. The Trident 660 has been kicking around for a while now, meaning the values of the earliest bikes have taken a firm kicking in the depreciation department.

Even if you don’t resort to buying a Cat N write-off, you can snag one for under £5,000. The focus of our attention today is a little more than that at £5,395, which is still a good chunk less than the list price of the new version, and you get all sorts of extras.

It has the all-important (at the time optional) quickshifter, plus Evotech Sport levers, frame protection, a custom seat, a tail tidy and bar-end mirrors. The standard mirrors aren’t great, so the fitting of the latter, which also suits the bike down to the ground, is good news.

For sale at Shorrock Motorcycles, it’s done only 7,178 miles and is finished in the lesser-seen (and no longer available) Goodwood Green, complete with gold accents. Lovely.

As with the updated bike, the heart of the bike is a 660cc triple producing 80bhp and 47lb ft of torque. And so, it won’t freak you out at full twist if you’re a newbie, nor will you get bored if you’re a more experienced rider.
