The Canadian brand Can-Am is breaking new ground in 2024, as it launches the Canyon, its first adventure-biased three-wheeler.

The new Canyon will join the Can-Am range of ATVs, side-by-side off-roaders, and electric motorcycles, slotting into the brand’s four-vehicle strong (in some regions) three-wheeler family. It is, though, a very different offering from any of the existing three-wheelers the brand sells, which until now was made up of machines aimed at on-road riding.

Within the Canyon family are three models, the the stock bike ($30,999/£23,600), an XT which features crash protection, rider and passenger heating, improved rear suspension, and 120 litres of luggage space ($36,999/£28,200), and the top-spec Redrock. This flagship bike gains the same 120 litres of luggage space, a rear-view camera, Smart-Shox semi-active suspension and unique colours and finishes that are specific to the Redrock. It comes in at a heady $40,499 or around £30,800.

Power for the Canyon comes from a Rotax-built 1,330cc ACE inline three-cylinder engine which pumps out 115bhp and 96lb ft of torque. Feeding the power to the rear wheel is a SE6 semi-automatic gearbox, with delivery to the ground coming via a carbon belt.

The chassis of the Canyon boasts foot-operated three-wheel Brembo brakes and, if you stump for the top-spec Redrock, semi-active suspension from KYB. The Smart-Shox system includes a trick self-levelling feature as well as air preload adjustment. Each corner of the machine is shod with XPS ADV-spec hoops.

As it stands the Canyon is only showing as available in some regions and as yet, that doesn’t include the UK. Given how small the UK market for this kind of funky three-wheeler is, it remains to be seen if we’ll ever see the machine on UK roads.

More information on the Canyon can be found on the official website.
