A Collection of 27 Honda Motorcycles is Heading to Auction
The Hondas were owned by a Welsh enthusiast and if the estimates are correct they could be worth around £70,000

A rare collection of Honda bikes is heading to auction next month, with 27 bikes from the hoard rolling over the auction block, all from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
The 27 bikes should, if the estimates are correct, sell for a total of around £70,000, with some of the star lots being a six-cylinder CBX, a number of CB450 ‘Black Bombers’, CB500s and CB750s, as well as more cost-effective bikes like CG125s.
The bikes come from the estate of a deceased collector, who, according to George Beale from Charterhouse Auctions, “collected and enjoyed” the bikes “over many years”. Included in the auction catalogue are a number of ‘CB’ four-cylinder models, including three CB350s, two CB500/4 and a beautiful 1977 CB750 K6. The historical importance of the CB750 can’t be ignored, with the model widely reputed to be the first true superbike and a machine that kickstarted the Japanese domination of the global motorcycle market.

Another headline bike is a stunning 1981 Honda CBX1000, which will be heading to auction with an estimate of between £10,000 and £12,000 on it. The CBX was bought in 1999, and has just 55,000 miles recorded on the odometer. While the exterior is in original and un-restored condition, the engine has been the recipient of nearly £4,000 worth of engine work, with invoices from 1997 accompanying the bike. Charterhouse states that the bike was last used in 2024 and that it was running well at that time.
