Ducati 916 Carl Fogarty Replica Could be Yours for 30k
A stunning 2000 Ducati 916 Carl Fogarty replica could be yours if you have £30,000 knocking about
Number 105 of just 202 race replicas ever manufactured by Ducati, this 916 model is a stunning piece of kit which could be yours for £30k. From a British perspective when we think of Ducati and World Superbike success, we think of Carl Fogarty.
A four-time world champion with the Italian company, Fogarty made his name with Ducati after beginning his Superbike career with Honda. And as part of his success over the years, Ducati built 202 916 replicas. The first 2000 Ducati 916 replica made was stored at the official Ducati museum in Bologna, with the second be handed over to Fogarty.
But the rest, which are sold strictly in the UK, were made to celebrate Fogarty and Ducati’s successful partnership and #105 is now available to be won in auction at the end of the month at Silverstone, thanks to iconicauctioneers.
This is not the first 2000 Fogarty replica 916 Ducati the auction company have sold, hauling in £61,500 for the #001 machine previously. The #105 which is now available with a guide price of £25,000-£30,000 and bidding will commence on 25 August.
In terms of the bike itself, it’s easy to get lost in the appeal as it’s run a mere 1,700 miles and has a double under-seat Termignoni exhaust that will undoubtedly wake the neighbours. The bike is MOT’d until June 2025 and is kitted out in the livery that Fogarty raced with.
The 916 replica is based on the famous 916 SPS which roared into life in 1994 and remains one of Ducati’s most adored motorcycles. Not many two-wheel machines are spoken about like the Ducati 916, especially ones that are over 30 years old, but this was the bike that put the Italian brand in the spotlight, and as such, has remained a key part of their history.
