Ducati’s annual party on the east coast of Italy kicks off later this month, and one of the Bologna brand’s most famous models will be taking centre stage.

Launched in 1994, the Massimo Tamburini-designed Ducati 916 is regularly described as the best-looking sports bike of all time, and while its impact on the two-wheeled landscape may be less than that of the Fireblade, it doesn’t stop the Bologna bike’s topping of regular ‘Most Iconic Motorcycle’ articles. Its rich history, both on the track and the road, is to be celebrated this summer, as Ducati will be blowing out the candles on the bike’s thirtieth birthday cake at the 2024 edition of World Ducati Week.

Taking place in and around the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Rimini, the event is a pilgrimage for Ducatisti from across the world, and this year's event will be no different. It also marks the start of the first official census of 916, 996 and 998 models. The purpose of the census is to preserve “the historical heritage” while “enhancing the uniqueness” of the family of machines.

Owners of any of the models in the 916 family are invited to certify ownership of their motorcycle, opening up the chance to take part in special activities with Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss (both of whom have a significant history with the range) on the hallowed Misano circuit.

Those who come forward to register their bikes will also gain exclusive access to the terrace for the exhibition "Ducati 916: The Essence of Ducati DNA" which will be open only to owners during the Lenovo Race of Champions. And because we all love a sticker (regardless of our age) they will also bag a holographic sticker to certify participation in the census. For those unable to make it to the event in person, the census activity will continue after the event and is available through the MyDucati App.

World Ducati Week 2024 is taking place from 26 to 28 July. More information can be found on the official website.
