A special limited edition Ducati Monster SP is coming soon, but sadly it will only be available for purchase in Japan.

20 units are being created and the new Monster SP has been inspired by the video game, Monster Hunter, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The video game is of the fantasy type and Capcom, which hold the rights to the game, has partnered with Ducati Japan to create 20 examples of the limited edition motorcycle.

The bike has already appeared in public as it was showcased during last month’s 2024 Tokyo Game Show from 26-29 September. The 20 limited edition Monster SP motorcycles feature a design that highlights Fatalis (better known as Miraboreas in the Japanese version of the game), who is one of the dragons.

In addition to the dragon image on the bike, it also features a black fuel tank cover as well as a black front fender and seat cowl. Like the standard Ducati Monster SP in dealerships, the bike comes with Ohlins suspension, including an NIX30 front upside-down fork, Brembo Stylema front brake calipers and is fitted with the dual Termignoni exhaust pipes.

While there will only be 20 lucky owners of these bikes, another 80 people will receive a Ducati x Monster Hunter sticker, but to do so you must be one of the first 100 people to visit a Ducati dealer in Japan for a test rider.

The Monster Hunter SP edition bike will be available for order from 5-31 October.

I personally owned a Ducati Monster 937+ for two years, and still to this day it is my favourite motorcycle that I’ve thrown a leg over, although mine sadly did not feature a video game-inspired livery. It’s a bike we tested in SP form last year on both the road and the track and it was called a “delight to ride” around Silverstone. See our Ducati Monster SP review here.
