Duo Top 224mph in Preparation for Pillion Speed Record
Jack Frost and Paul Milbourn recorded the speed at Elvington airfield, and the duo have their sights set on topping 240mph

Two British speed racers have set an unofficial record at Elvington airfield, after reaching a speed of 224mph on a specially modified Suzuki Hayabusa.
The pair are the rider, Jarrod “Jack” Frost, and the pillion Paul Milbourn, who are using a uniquely modified machine for the task. The Suzuki Hayabusa is a popular choice for speed racing such as this, given that modifications such as turbo-charging can unlock significant gains in power from the engine.
The Suzuki Hayabusa being ridden by the pair is no different in that respect, and boasts an extensively tuned engine reputed to be putting out an eye-watering 800bhp. On top of the modifications to increase performance, the ‘Busa also has some other, less common additions to enable the two-up 200mph+ runs. For starters, a custom pillion seat has been fitted, with footrests mounted in the traditional position for the passenger. To enable Milbourn to hang on at speed, Frost opted to add secondary handlebars to the bike, which sprout from the area beneath the fuel tank.

After some initial shakedown runs, Frost managed to top 260mph in an earlier run riding solo. Later in the day, and with Milbourne now on the perch, the pair topped 224mph, eclipsing the 185.3mph speed set by TV’s Allen Millyard and Henry Cole in a previous pillion speed record.
The pair will now be setting their sights on topping 240mph on the bike, with a world record attempt slated for May 2025.
