FHO Racing Confirms North West 200 Return Following 2023 Withdrawal
FHO Racing, along with competing at the Isle of Man TT in 2025, will return to the North West with its new star-studded line-up despite withdrawing in 2023 due to a stewarding row
Peter Hickman and new addition Davey Todd will lead the FHO Racing team in 2025, as the team looks to build on its road racing success of the past few years with two of the best riders in the field.
Hickman continued his impressive Isle of Man TT form in 2024 as he collected a 14th victory, while Todd became a first-time Senior TT race winner before going on to win the British Superstock championship.
The two rivals will now be lining up alongside each other, but not just at the Isle of Man TT, as the North West 200 event will see a return for FHO Racing after it withdrew in 2023 following a controversial stewarding row.
The team’s Superstock bikes were deemed to be illegal on the starting grid for the first race of the event, as the FHO Racing M1000RR’s carbon fibre wheels were not compliant with the regulations.
The Superstock ruling claimed that all machines must use the same wheels as the production model at the time, but carbon fibre wheels are banned in Irish road racing. FHO made it known that its bikes passed scrutineering without issues ahead of track action at the 2023 event.
“Having missed the last two years, I am happy to say FHO Racing will be participating in the 2025 North West 200 with my two rider line-up,” said team owner Faye Ho. “I am very much looking forward to coming back and putting on a good show for everyone and it will be great to see all of the team’s fans again. Hope to see you all in 2025!”
Mervyn White, race director at the North West 200, admits he’s glad to have the BMW-run team back: “Davey Todd won this year’s British Superstock championship and moves up to the Superbike series for 2025 where he is joining Peter Hickman.
“Both Davey and Peter are leading contenders on the roads and tracks and the FHO Racing BMWs have a well-established pedigree of success so this is very exciting news for North West 200 fans.”
