Former BSB Racer Heads up Hugely Popular Retail Outlet
He’s one part of the investment group which have acquired the M&P Direct motorcycle equipment and clothing brand
The former BSB racer, and now business investor and eCommerce specialist, Peter Graves is one of the names heading up the much-loved retail outlet M&P Direct.
The Swansea-based online and in-person retailer has announced the news of the acquisition this week, with Graves saying he is “thrilled to join the M&P family”, as he and his team look to build the business and invest in its future.
“We know how our motorcycling friends have for decades relied on M&P as the most expert and most reliable supplier of bike parts and accessories.” Graves said. “We know what a force they have been for the motorcyclists of Wales running these absolutely stunning dealerships. Our goal is to build on the solid foundation already in place, investing in the future while maintaining the legacy and passion that M&P Direct is known for.”
What isn’t changing at M&P is the core staff at the store, with a statement on the M&P website saying it will still be “driven by its dedicated team”. On top of the core workforce, Mark Collings, the founder and Managing Director for the last 40 years, and Co-director Lynette Ballard will continue their roles within the business.
“We’ve had a challenging few years in common with many in the industry. Collings said. “We’ve seen many friends and competitors fall by the wayside. We wanted to make this change to give M&P the best possible opportunity for the future, and by bringing in this expert new team we can build on what we have and give our loyal employees the best possible prospects for the future.”
The two other new faces behind the brand will be Steve Rooms, as the Chief Financial Officer, and Ric Wilson,who will oversee the business's resource management.
