After being dropped by KTM as a test rider due to the Austrian brand’s ongoing financial struggles, Jeremy McWilliams has opted to make a return to racing in 2025 with the JMac Racing Team.

McWilliams had been with KTM for several years in his role, but cuts across the entire brand meant he was looking for a new role in 2025, and the one McWilliams has chosen is certainly interesting. McWilliams has confirmed plans to race in the road-based Ulster Superbike Championship in 2025.

McWilliams’s most recent racing program saw him race in the United States where he took victory at the 2022 Daytona race in the King of the Baggers event. As part of his road racing career, McWilliams is a 13-time podium finisher at the North West 200 and in 2025 he’ll be racing Superbike, Supersport and Supertwin machinery!

"I've decided to come back to my grassroots. I dipped my toe in at the end of 2024 and really enjoyed running with Jason [McCaw, JMC Racing team owner] and the team,” McWilliams told the BBC.

"To be part of a professional set-up like that, which is even bigger this year, bringing new guys on board and new machinery, it gave me that spark to get back racing here in the Ulster Superbike Championship. I've got three different bikes and three different classes to choose from so it's about finding what's the best focus and where we fit in best.

"It means a lot to be competitive and enjoy racing. That's the focus to go out and be as competitive as possible on the two tracks that we've got, Kirkistown and Bishopscourt. It's a wake-up call for me, jumping back on a big bike against guys who are circuit specialists. I want to start in a strong way and see how it goes.”
