Connor Behan, a former Irish Road Racing champion in the supertwin class, has been jailed for 18 years after raping a seven-year-old girl.

A shocking and disgusting story, the now 33 year-old has been found guilty of several counts of raping a girl under the age of 13, as well as multiple counts of sexual assault and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

The disgusting acts from Behan has led to 18 years imprisonment as well as the ex-racer being given a restraining order by the Chester Crown Court. Behan will also remain on the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life.

The police claim Behan sexually assaulted the girl several times throughout a period that started in May 2019 when she was just seven years old. The investigation by the Chester Police force began in October 2022.

During the investigation Behan became a suspect after the girl told a teacher at her school about the sexual abuse. A police dog was then used at Behan’s house where traces of semen were found on the girl’s bedding.

Det Sgt Scott Graves told the BBC: "Behan sexually abused his victim for a sustained period of time – he showed no remorse, denying everything throughout the investigation.

"Thankfully, the jury were able to see through his lies, and he will finally be held accountable for what he's done. I hope this result will allow the victim to eventually move on with her life, now that Behan will be unable to hurt her ever again."

Behan’s conviction comes after he was previously jailed for three years for supplying drugs in Spain, although that sentence was then cut to one year, while he was also jailed following a 90mph police pursuit in Northwich where he attempted to flee from the cops. Behan is a former racer at the Isle of Man TT.
