Francesco Bagnaia MotoGP Documentary to be Released by Ducati
A three-episode series will document the latter stages of Francesco Bagnaia’s 2024 MotoGP season, where he came up second best in the title fight against Jorge Martin
Ducati will release the first of three episodes documenting Francesco Bagnaia’s 2024 season, this Sunday (15 December) on its official YouTube channel.
Ducati and MotoGP have put the series together and will go behind the scenes as Bagnaia went up against Jorge Martin for the second consecutive year. However, the final result in the championship this year was very different to 2023.
While Martin won the title for Ducati, his switch to Aprilia for 2025 put even greater pressure on Bagnaia to keep the MotoGP crown within Ducati’s ranks, but despite 11 Grand Prix wins (the most of any rider) and another seven sprint victories, Bagnaia came up short by just 10 points despite a sensational double win at the season-finale in Barcelona.
The series will of course focus on some of the high points which will include many of his wins, although the three-part series will also delve into the troubles Bagnaia encountered throughout the year. These include his occasional poor starts, which cost him several big results, but also the crashes he had from winning and podium positions, which unlike 2023 cost him dearly.
Although Bagnaia missed out on the title which would have made him a three-time MotoGP champion, the Italian did enter the top list for most race wins in the premier class, while also becoming Ducati’s most successful rider in the championship ahead of Casey Stoner.
Based on the trailer it even appears as though some fairly heated discussions between Bagnaia and his crew chief Christian Gabbarini took place, but also with Ducati Lenovo Team manager Davide Tardozzi.
The first episode will drop this Sunday and has been titled, Dream On: Ducati and Bagnaia’s Pursuit of Glory.
