IT has really been no secret that Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman have been working on a new adventure called Long Way up. After all, a convoy of electrically (and diesel!) powered vehicles trekking up South America is not going to go unnoticed.

Add to that McGregor’s love of a selfie with the locals and the fact that the bike they were riding has grabbed more headlines than any other this year (Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire), and it’s surprising the whole ride hasn’t already been live-streamed!

There is one thing that has always been kept quiet, and that’s the release date and service that will air the new show. Now though we can confirm that the show will be aired on the Apple TV streaming service, thanks to one eagle-eyed YouTuber who managed to spot McGregor’s fuzzy mush in an advertising montage promoting Apple TV’s upcoming shows. It may only be a glimpse of the Star Wars actor, but it is enough to confirm that the deal to run the show on the streaming service is signed, sealed, and in the bag.

While the delivery method for the show is now known, the date it’ll land is still in the dark, although just the fact the advert shows a pic from Long Way Up means it is isn’t that far off. It’s highly unlikely for Apple to begin teasing a new show in this way unless the release date was within 12-months. We think that an Autumn Winter 2020 release is most likely, although we’ll let you know when it is confirmed!
