Is this the best track day experience money can buy right now?

It is now possible to purchase a track day experience on a proper Moto2 race bike at the Red Bull Ring in Austria

We all love a good track day experience or riding school but the closest many of us mere mortals will ever get to riding a full-blown racing machine is if you are a professional racer…

At least that would be the case unless you travel to the Red Bull Ring in Austria this summer, where the venue is now offering you the opportunity to get on track aboard a proper Moto2 machine.

New for 2020, the Red Bull Ring has just added five KTM Moto2 machines – boasting 130hp and a top speed of 180mph - to its track day fleet giving you the chance to experience just what a honed prototype model feels like on a grippy racetrack.

The venue is offering both training and racetrack experiences, which will enable you to unleash the featherweight bikes around the high-speed Austrian MotoGP-hosting venue. Given we’re unlikely to see a proper MotoGP bike offered up for a track day any time soon, this could well be the closest you’ll ever get to feeling like a grand prix rider…

Prices for the lead and follow racetrack experiences start at 190euros, with the full training experiences – which come in silver and gold packages – starting at 600euros.

With arguably some of the best facilities of any racetrack in the world, the Red Bull Ring’s location nestled into the Styrian mountains also means it is perhaps also one of the most picturesque locations you’ll ever ride a motorcycle.

So if you weren’t lucky enough to get a deposit down on the Triumph Daytona 765 – which has been dubbed a Moto2 bike for the road – then this could be the alternative for you.
