CANCELLED: 2023 Romney Marsh Classic Bike Jumble called off
The Romney Marsh Classic Bike Jumble and Ride-In show is set for the beginning of May, and has returning features alongside the main attractions.
The Romney Marsh Classic Bike Jumble has been cancelled, it has been announced, as a result of heavy rainfall in the area over recent days.
The Romney Marsh Classic Bike Jumble was originally scheduled for 7 May 2023, but due to rainfall in the area at the end of April the event has had to be cancelled. Existing tickets purchased for the show will be moved to the next-scheduled event at Romney Marsh on 25 June.
Event Organiser, Julie Diplock from Elk Promotions, said: "Sadly, the recent rainfall has left much of the ground waterlogged, and due to the amount of standing water the site will not be usable. Despite best efforts, we have been unable to find a suitable alternative venue at short notice.
"We apologise for any disappointment, and hope that ticket-holders and exhibitors can join us at our next event on Sunday 25th June."

The Romney Marsh Bike Show has been announced for 7 May, with the traditional Ride-In leading to the Bike Jumble.
The location for the Jumble is Hamstreet in Kent, which therefore becomes the end point for the Ride-In.
The Ride-In can be entered by any visitor riding their own bike to Romney Marsh on the date of the Show on 7 May 2023. Prizes are on offer for Best Classic and Best Post-Classic bike. “Classic” is defined as motorcycles from before 1980, and therefore “Post-Classic” is defined as bikes from after 1980.
Regarded as one of the more popular and larger events on the classic bike calendar, the Romney Marsh show not only celebrates the timeless examples displayed at the event itself, but the jumble aspect of the event is combined with the presence of experts and specialists to ensure classic projects get the kind of attention they both require and deserve.
Furthermore, the ‘BikeMart’ feature at Romney Marsh returns for 2023. It means that owners of motorcycles which they are wishing to sell can display their bike(s) free of charge, as long as they are complete and running.
Finally, there will be live music from Twenty Flight Rock who will be playing "hits from the 50s and 60s," a press release from the show reads.
Gates open to the public from 10am on Sunday 7 May and ticket prices have been held at the 2022 rates - £5 for adults and £4 for those aged 65 and over.
