Coronation Street star gives away classic bike to key-workers
The Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson gave away the classic motorcycle to key-workers as a thank you after contracting COVID-19
CORONATION Street star Simon Gregson has gifted his classic motorcycle and a classic car to two frontline workers and NHS staff as a thank you to them for their work during COVID-19.
The gesture came about after the star took to twitter and thanked all NHS staff and key-workers. He went on to ask if there were any NHS staff out there who would like to take on his classic bike and car projects as a thank you for all they do.
His tweet read:
‘Dear NHS workers I have two classic projects (car and bike) if you ride or drive and like fettling old machinery there yours. Just a little thank you. They need work! But don’t we all. No delivery for obvs reasons oh and thank you Folded hands’

After receiving 96 retweets, 1.6k likes and 81 comments on the tweet, it seemed like the car, A Triumph 1300, and the bike, a 1955 Francis Barnett Kestrel 30c had found their new home.
Part of the reason Gregson took to Twitter to thank the NHS and key-worker population in this manner was due to personally being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic not once, but twice.
Confirming the bike and car had been picked up by their respective new owners, he said:
‘So the car and bike have gone to be made better by people who are the best at it. Happy Easter be safe xx’
Gregson’s wife, Emma, lost her grandmother to the virus last week and Gregson himself had tested positive for it too.
