Former F1 driver designs airplane-engined concept motorcycle

Is this the most insane concept ever?

Former F1 driver designs airplane-engined concept motorcycle

WHAT do F1 drivers do when they outgrow their 200+mph racing cars?

In the case of former Brazilian F1 racer Tarso Marques, they are forced to get creative.

The 42-year-olf has recently revealed the TMC Dumont Concept - a sci-fi styled motorcycle concept, propelled by a huge airplane engine.

The working concept features a 60s 300-hp Rolls-Royce Continental V6 engine - the likes of which are usually found in some Cessnas - although with extremely limited ground clearance, skinny wheels and a low seating position close to the rear wheel, it's hardly a conventional speed record setter.

It's named after Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont and earlier this year won the title of "Best in Show" at the Daytona Bike Week.

Pretty impressive huh?
