Honda's Mean Mower Mk2 is ready for action

23-year-old stunt driver and former British Karting Champion, Jess Hawkins, will attempt to break the previous Mean Mower record later this year

Honda's Mean Mower Mk2 is ready for action

FOUR WHEELS on a custom-built steel frame, with the 999cc, 189bhp engine from the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP making for a power to weight ratio of 1,000bhp per tonne.

It can only mean one thing - Honda's Mean Mower is back, and better than ever.

Back in 2014 we brought you word of the VTR1000 Firestorm engine'd original Mean Mower. Making 778hp per tonne, it achieved an average speed of 116.57mph to beat the previous record by almost 30mph and become the World's Fastest Lawnmover.

Impressive, huh? Maybe, but the Mean Mower V2 is in another league.

Honda will attempt to break its own record later this year - likely at RAF Elvington - with stunt driver and former British Karting Champion, Jess Hawkins, at the wheel.

Watch Hawkins rev the beast in the above video, and see the Mean Mower in action at Goodwood Festival of Speed, which starts this Thursday.
