Kawasaki recalls ZX-10R and ZX-6R

Regulator malfunction identified

Kawasaki recalls ZX-10R and ZX-6R

KAWASAKI has recalled “certain” ZX-10R and ZX-6R models after finding a fault with the voltage regulator used on the bikes.

Although the firm's UK press release doesn't identify which model years are affected, a similar recall in America recently involved 2009-2012 ZX-6Rs and 2008-2011 ZX-10Rs, all manufactured between December 2007 and July 2011.

As usual with recalls, there really isn't much to worry about – Kawasaki will be contacting registered owners of affected bikes via letter to get them to arrange to go to a dealer, where problem regulators will be replaced free of charge. At worst, the problem could lead to engines stalling, but a flat battery making starting difficult or impossible is a more likely outcome.

Any concerned customers can get more information from their dealers or Kawasaki Customer Service on 01628 856750.
