Lewis Hamilton crashes World Superbike at Jerez
The five-time F1 world champion was testing a Crescent Yamaha YZF-R1
LESS THAN A WEEK after he took his fifth Formula 1 World Championship, Lewis Hamilton has crashed a Yamaha YZF-R1 while testing it at Jerez.
According to reports from Italy, Hamilton was testing a Yamaha YZF-R1 – which was raced by the Crescent team in WSBK this year – on the Southern Spanish circuit on Saturday, in an event organised by British firm No Limits.
Unfortunately, the Mercedes racer suffered a small crash during the day, but luckily he was uninjured, and was able to get back on the bike – a black model with stickers bearing his racing number of 44 – and continue riding.
Lewis Hamilton is a fervent fan of MotoGP and motorcycling in general, and last year became an ambassador for MV Agusta, collaborating to design the limited-edition F4 LH 44.
