Moto Guzzi to celebrate 100th anniversary this September in Mandello del Lario
Moto Guzzi has announced that its centenary celebrations will finally take place this September, after being forced to miss the anniversary last year.
MOTO Guzzi has announced that its 100 year anniversary will be celebrated in its home town of Mandello del Lario later this year in September.
Of course, by September 2022, Guzzi will be 101-years-old, but Covid prevented celebrations from taking place last year. Now, though, it is possible to celebrate the legendary Italian brand in proper fashion.
The centenary celebrations will take place on the weekend of 8-11 September in Mandello del Lario, and will feature both the first Guzzi World Day event since 2011, and the latest edition of the Citta Della Moto Guzzi International Motorcycle Rally.
Situated just north-east of Milan, Mandello del Lario was the birthplace of Moto Guzzi, when the marque was founded back in 1921. Since then Guzzi has produced bikes for a variety of purposes, from Grand Prix racers to military machines, many of which can be viewed in the recently reopened Moto Guzzi museum, also situated in Mandello del Lario.
In a press release, Moto Guzzi says, “Over the second weekend of September, Mandello will turn into the global epicentre of motorcycling passion, because Moto Guzzi represents an unrivalled heritage of history, technology, style and allure, capable of engaging and thrilling every generation.”
“The GMG – Guzzi World Days and Città Della Moto Guzzi International Motorcycle Rally for the 100th Anniversary will represent a natural, irresistible attraction for every Guzzista, who won’t want to oppose the return of their Moto Guzzi, from every era, to its birthplace on the shore of Lake Como, which will be the focus of celebrations with a packed calendar of events starting on Thursday 8 September,” the Guzzi press release continues.
