FROM August it will cost £60 a year to watch MotoGP on BT Sport as the channel ramps up its prices.

The new £5 monthly charge ends the free MotoGP access currently offered to BT Broadband customers.

It's even glummer news for the wallets of GP fans without BT Broadband and watching through Sky - the £13.50 monthly charge is set to increase to £19.99. That's nearly £240 a year to watch a sport that was freely available on the BBC just a few years earlier.

One alternative is the live MotoGP stream available for £99 a season from VideoPass.
