Orlando Bloom’s custom BMW S1000R
The retro super-naked
FIND BMW’s S1000R a bit plastic fantastic? And the R nineT a bit low-tech. Not a problem if you’re a Hollywood star.
This is Orlando Bloom’s S1000R, customised by Deus Ex Machina in California and revealed in a BMW press release the morning.
The bike was built by the Michael Woolaway, head of Deus Ex Machina, who is apparently a good friend of Bloom’s.
It’s appeared in a video on BMW’s Youtube channel.
BMW’s release said: Everyone knows Orlando Bloom as a successful actor, but not everyone knows about his passion for motorbikes. As a long-standing fan of BMW motorcycles, Orlando Bloom owns and rides a number of BMW models, including old classics.
For his own custom bike project he specifically chose the BMW S1000R.
He asked his good friend, Michael "Woolie" Woolaway, head of the Deus Ex Machina custom shop in Venice, CA, USA, to work with him to bring his custom S1000R vision into reality.’
A BMW message with the video says: When Orlando Bloom began collaborating with BMW Motorrad on a new custom ride, he knew exactly whose number to call: close friend and bike guru Michael “Woolie” Woolaway (DeusExMachina /Venice, CA). The result is the stunning “4cyl”, a S1000 R transformed by their shared passion to Orlando’s exacting specifications.
‘OUR MANIFESTO: Wake up to life every morning with your engine running. Because everything you discover along the way will be yours forever. And that’s how you make life a ride. #MakeLifeARide.’
