Pc James Latter, 30, based at Lewes; Pc Ahmet Yapicioz, 53, based at Gatwick; and Pc Alan Harris, 30, based at Lewes, were out enjoying their motorcycles on a day off when the incident occurred. Sky News reports that they collided with a red Fiesta car being driven by an 80-year-old male who was carrying a passenger at the time.

The force has confirmed that two of the officers suffered injuries in the crash, while the driver of the Fiesta and his female passenger suffered minor injuries as a result.
As a result of the crash, all three riders will face a charge of dangerous driving, while Yapicioz and Harris are reported to also have been charged with driving at more than 60mph.
The incident took place on the B2141, at 1.20 pm in the middle of July last year. The riders are reported to have been heading towards Chichester at the time of the crash.
Adding to the red faces, the three officers were travelling in a county that, while not in full lockdown conditions, at the time was being urged to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives. The message to maintain social distancing, wear a mask and wash hands regularly was very much still in force.
The three officers appeared at Worthing Magistrates court earlier this week.
