Triumph and Gibson guitars partner up in support of men's health
Triumph and Gibson team up to celebrate two of their legendary models in support of men's health.
BRITAIN'S leading motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph, has today (1 March 2022) announced a partnership with legendary guitar maker, Gibson.
Triumph Motorcycles and Gibson Brands have today announced a new ‘custom partnership’ that will celebrate two of their legendary models: from Gibson, the 1959 Les Paul Standard guitar; and from Triumph, the 1959 Bonneville T120.
The 1959 Bonneville T120 was launched and named in tribute to Triumph’s successful land speed record attempt in 1956 at the Bonneville Salt Flats, and became part of Triumphs now-long history in racing, which has led to the present day where the British brand supplies 765cc three-cylinder motors to the Moto2 World Championship grid and, from this year, also to the European Moto2 field.
2022 will also see Triumph return to the Supersport World Championship with former Grand Prix rider Stefano Manzi aboard their Street Triple RS machine, while more details of their previously announced return to the motocross and enduro scenes - for which American motocross legend Ricky Carmichael is their ambassador - are hotly anticipated.
Triumph and Gibson will be collaborating to support the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2022, scheduled to take place on 22 May 2022, in support of the Movember charity.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, in partnership with Movember, works to raise funds for research programs for prostate cancer - the second-most commonly diagnosed cancer in men - as well as mental health and suicide (statistically speaking, three in four suicide victims are men) prevention programs, as per their website.
Since 2012, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has raised over $30m in support of men’s health, and pre-registration for this year’s ride is already open, and can be accessed here.
