They may be small bikes, but the love for them from around the world is mighty, as is proven by the number of countries represented at Vespa World Days 2024.

The party in 2024 takes place in the picturesque city of Pontedera, with fans descending on the event between 18-21 April. It’s the first time the event has taken place in this particular city, although its importance to the most famous scooter brand on the planet is quite significant. It is the place where Vespa was founded and the site of its manufacture since 1946. It’s also home to the Piaggio Museum, which was founded in 1884, and its fans will be able to take in an exhibition entitled ‘Vespa all over the World’.

If static displays aren’t your thing, and you’d prefer the smell of two-stroke engines and strong coffee, an expected eight thousand bikes (Vespas, obviously) will be taking part in the parade on April 20. It is taking in the best bits of the province of Valdera - which is now sadly sold out. Fans will also be able to look at the present-day Vespa manufacturing plant, which will swing open its doors on 20-21 April, and offer visitors tours of the facility.

For the four days of the event, the Vespa Village in Piazza del Mercato serves as the hub, where fans will be able to find food and drink along with exhibition stands showing the full range, merchandise and more. There will also be test rides, along with the delivery of 250 limited edition certificates of origin for the event, and even a Concorso di Eleganza on 20 April.

More than just the festivities going on at the event, the scale of it, in terms of geographically where people have travelled from for it, is huge. Through its extensive network of official owner clubs, Vepsa has confirmed that fans representing 660 Italian clubs will be joined by countries including Australia, Canada, Japan, the US, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Pakistan, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kuwait, Morocco as well as all the European nations.
