When forks just aren't enough
More eBay finds...
OK, so it's Friday afternoon and that means there's always a few minutes to trawl eBay and wistfully dream of what might be if tonight's EuroMillions numbers come up...
Today's picked-from-nowhere theme... Unconventional suspension. And there's a range of oddities on sale that will certainly give their next owners something to talk about.
From the money-is-no-object camp, how about this 38 kilometre from new Bimota Tesi 1D?
OK, so it's not fast or even conventionally good looking, and the rusty discs betray its lack of miles, but for a statement of 1980s-style cool (check out the digital dash, straight from the Casio era) bikes don't come much more iconic.
It's a bit rich, though, so here's a budget alternative; a Gilera CX 125. Not for the shy, retiring type, these CX 125s didn't sell well when new and today are up there with the proverbial hen's molars in terms of rarity. Looks in decent nick from the pictures, too, and comes with a more conventional 50cc Gilera from the same era, too. Problems? Well, picking it up from Hungary could be a stumbling point...
Of course, eBay always tends to turn up one or two of the most successful forkless bike of all, Yamaha's GTS. A couple are up there right now.
Now, get back to work...
