You what? Bike dealer donates Ducati 848 to police
Riding around Cumbria? Watch out for a white 848 tha wants to go for a play
MOTORCYCLE dealer J&L Motorcycles have donated a Ducati 848 to Cumbrian Police.
The Ducati will be used to support the Bikesafe scheme and is thought by Cumbrian Police that it will also be an icebreaker so that they can engage with bikers and pass on road safety advice. According to Cumbrian Police it will also be used during policing operations. We don't expect it to be used to chase drug dealers or thieves, but do expect you'll be likely to get a tug from a police officer riding an exotic Italian superbike while you're out enjoying Cumbrian country roads.
Sergeant Jo Lennox from Cumbria’s Roads Policing Unit, who coordinates the Bikesafe scheme, said: “We run a number of events at popular biking pit stops, such as Devil’s Bridge and Hartside café, and hope that the Ducati will act as an icebreaker, so that we can start a dialogue with bikers."
