Get a First Look at Jorge Martin in Aprilia MotoGP Colours
Aprilia has just revealed its MotoGP bike and riders for 2025, with Jorge Martin lining up with Marco Bezzecchi in the factory team
The Aprilia factory team has revealed its 2025 MotoGP bike and rider lineup, meaning we finally get to see the No.1 plate on the RSGP that Jorge Martin will ride.
He might have already written on winning the title again in 2025, saying that 2026 will be a more realistic target for championship glory, but still wants to “win with Aprilia” in his first year with the Italian brand.
The unveiling of Aprilia’s bike and riders took place today, at a glitzy ceremony at Sky Italy's Milan studios. The bike might be visually little changed from the one we saw racing this year, in fact, the only new features seem to be some new aerodynamic elements sprouting from the bike. The rider lineup, though, is all-new, with reigning champion Martin joining the Ducati escapee in the Marco Bezzecchi. With Aleix Espargaro moving to a testing role with Honda and Maverick Vinales joining the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team on a multi-year deal, the new pairing for Aprilia becomes quite possibly the most promising in recent years.
It would be foolish to expect immediate success from its two riders in 2025, as the pair will have to adapt to the RSGP which at times in 2024 seemed to lack consistency. Nonetheless, the both seem buoyed at being in the smaller and more close-knit Noale team.
"I am super excited by this new challenge: to win with Aprilia.” Said Martin. “My goals are very clear; now we must concentrate on being the best version of ourselves - that goes for Aprilia and for me personally. I’m in the right place to do great things, it will be an exciting challenge, we are all very determined. I really feel the warmth of being part of this team, and I think that this is the perfect place for me. We are all thrilled to be starting this new season.”
Marco Bezzecchi’s 2024 season aboard the VR46 Ducati was one he’d probably rather forget, after ending the season in a lowly 12th place in the standings with a solitary podium finish of third place at Jerez being the only notable highlight.
“I’m really happy I joined this team, and Aprilia as a whole.” Bezzecchi said. “It’s going to be fantastic, and I’m really happy to be representing such an important brand. It’s a great source of pride for me, both as a person and as a rider, to become an official rider. I can’t wait to get onto the track, to work hard and to give it some gas, and try to achieve good results. We are all really motivated, and that’s something that I really value. I’m really fired up - see you in Sepang for the test!”.
The 2025 MotoGP season kicks off at the end of next month with Thailand replacing Qatar as the opening round for this year.
