With the recent arrival of the Yamaha XSR900 GP, the Iwata brand’s sport heritage range now boasts an even wider selection of impressive models.
The XSR900 is the highest-capacity model within Yamaha’s range, which also consists of the entry-level XSR125 and XSR700, both of which also include a ‘Legacy’ model.
The Legacy model does not apply to the current XSR900 range which comes in two forms. There is the standard XSR900 and the new XSR900 GP bike which we at Visordown recently reviewed.
The XSR900 comes in two colourways - Legend Red and Midnight Black - but this stunning Kenny Roberts colourway gives the bike a MotoGP-inspired feel and is available for £10,999, which is just £283 cheaper than the RRP for the two standard colours.
The bike is not brand new although it has just 129 miles on the clock. Available through The Bike Specialists, this Roberts-themed XSR900 has had £2,500 spent on it to transform it into its current form.
This is not the first time Roberts has been intertwined with the XSR range as a 60th Anniversary XSR700 colourway was produced previously.
Roberts remains one of the most successful American Grand Prix riders, having won three 500cc titles on the bounce between 1978 and 1980, all of which came aboard Yamaha machinery.
The XSR900 Roberts edition maintains many of the same features as the standard XSR900 and has a 847cc inline-triple engine. The XSR900, derived from the MT-09 model, has two different models and this bike is the latest of those, meaning it includes the most recent updates such as a muted aluminium tank over black frame and black inverted forks.
This is a 2023 XSR900 model and it has been signed by Roberts. The bike also features Nissin brake calipers and Ohlins suspension.
