Guy Martin set for Straightliners Speed Show Appearance
Do more world records beckon for Guy Martin at the Straightliners Speed Show at Elvington Airfield?

Guy Martin will be one of the headline riders at the Straightliners Speed Show at Elvington Airfield as he attempts to set a new world record.
The former motorcycle road racer, current TV presenter, and part-time truck mechanic currently holds four Guinness World Records, with the last coming at the same venue in 2019. On that day, Martin set the world record for the fastest tractor with a speed of 135.190mph in a specially built JCB Fastrac.
Other records Martin holds include the fastest speed on a gravity-powered snow sled, the fastest speed in a soapbox, the highest speed on the Wall of Death and the fastest hovercraft which is a British record unlike the other four that are Guinness world records.
At the upcoming Straightliners Speed Show Martin will attempt to set a new land speed record aboard his streamliner (formerly-known as Express 52) motorcycle with a 1200 shaft horsepower Rolls-Royce Gem gas turbine engine.
The event takes place this weekend and ends on Sunday, and while he’s one of the headline performers, Martin is not the only big name that will attempt a new record.
The Spirit of GB team will be in action at Elvington Airfield as it looks to beat the current motorcycle top speed record of 376.363mph, currently held by Rocky Robinson in the Ack Attack streamliner. There will also be runs from the ‘Force of Nature’ steam-powered rocket motorcycle, crafted by Graham Sykes.
There will also be a host of other vehicles taking to the airfield to show off their top speed, while a 100-metre strip will welcome live drag racers.
For Martin, the event could see him achieve his sixth record which would add to the former 17-time Isle of Man TT podium finisher’s impressive list of accolades. Tickets for the event are still available with adults able to attend for £10 on either day. A weekend admissions ticket costs £20.
