Honda CB1300 Super Four SP and Bol d'Or Final Editions

Japanese Honda fans can now get their hands on some new final edition versions of the iconic CB1300

We sadly lost the ability to enjoy the CB1300 Super Four, and its part-faired Bol d’Or sibling, in 2013 after it was discontinued in the UK and Europe. Japanese fans of the big-bore retro, though, have continued to sample the simple delights of a thumping great inline four-cylinder engine and timeless naked bike styling.

Until now, that is, as with the release of new Final Edition versions of the bike, Honda is signalling the end of an era for a bike that has been in production since 1992. The four new models are the CB1300 Super Four Final Edition and the CB1300 Super Bol d'Or Final Edition, with both bikes also available in ‘SP’ spec.

The more desirable SP bikes are blessed with an Ohlins telescopic fork at the front and Ohlins twin-shocks at the rear. They also gain an upgrade in braking hardware, with Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers at the front end of the bike.

Both bikes are technically the same as the previous versions, albeit with special edition paintwork and badging to set the new Final Edition bikes apart. The paint scheme on both machines is inspired by the original 1992 editions, a look that is completed by a silver swing arm, top clamp, and steering stem. They also both feature exclusive "Final Edition" decals on top of the fuel tank.

The two bikes are being built in limited numbers, with the Honda Japan website confirming just 3,400 of each are set to be produced - and all of those heading to the Japanese market only. Adding to the woe, one of Honda’s best-loved big-bore naked bikes (and in special edition form) looks like a bit of a bargain, with the non-SP Super Four costing £9,127 at today's exchange rate, while the part-faired Bol d’Or comes in at just £9,726. For the more trick SP versions, the Super Four will cost £11,124 while the Bol d’Or has a price of £11,709 attached to it!
