Biker jailed for filming himself riding one handed at almost 200mph
Police found hundreds of videos of him riding dangerously on his on laptop
UNLESS YOU'RE Marc Marquez on a MotoGP circuit, 200mph is never going to be a good idea.
Unfortunately, it appears that no-one told Adam Campion from Nottinghamshire, who was yesterday jailed for driving dangerously and being in possession of a stolen motorbike, after police raided his home and found a laptop containing hundreds of clips of motorcycles being used irresponsibly.
Among the videos officers found footage of him driving through red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road, pulling wheelies and speeding in and out of traffic. But perhaps the most serious offence was a video showing him driving one handed and holding his mobile phone in the other while videoing his speedometer which topped 189mph.
The 26-year-old, of Nottingham Road, Hucknall, was sentenced to 21 months in jail, while police continue to appeal for information to identify the other offenders in the videos.
Speaking after sentencing, Inspector Glenn Longden, Ashfield District Commander commented: "The illegal and dangerous use of motorcycles is a massive issue to our communities and although this investigation was immensely complex and time consuming, the result in court has been satisfying.
"I hope this prison sentence will make those who think it is acceptable to put themselves and others in danger by driving dangerously think twice. They are not above the law and no matter how long it takes; we will bring them to justice."
