Zapp is one of the upcoming British manufacturers of electric vehicles, and recently announced a global expansion of its operations with a new production facility based out in the capital city of Thailand, Bangkok.

Zapp’s current product is the i300 scooter, which it describes as a ‘high-performance’ model and has a top speed of 90kph. Additionally, the i300 takes a novel approach to vehicle design with its ‘Z’-shaped exoskeleton which helps to keep weight down, according to Zapp. This is a characteristic which is carried over to the 6kg batteries - of which there are two.

It was for the i300 that Zapp was presented with an ‘award of merit’ at the E-Mobility Awards. This was in the 'E-motorcycle and e-bike' category.

In addition to this, Zapp picked up awards in the 'New Emobility/EV marque launch', 'Emobility/EV engineering' and 'Recycling innovation and sustainability initiatives' categories.

Jeremy North, President of Zapp, said: "It is an honour to be recognised by the E-Mobility awards. We committed to pushing the boundaries of what's thought possible when it comes to design, technology and sustainability, and the i300 represents something unique and innovative for the urban mobility market."
