KTM returns to EICMA in 2023
For the first time since 2019, Austria’s most famous motorcycle maker KTM will return to the biggest motorcycle show in Europe
KTM has confirmed that 2023 will see the firm heading to Milan this November, as it sets its sights on the EICMA show for the first time since 2019.
KTM was just one of the big names missing from the event in recent years, and while COVID-19 caused the cancellation of the event in 2020, and in 2021 and 2022, KTM was notable by its absence at the event. It wasn’t clear if KTM was pulling back on taking part in these kinds of events altogether, or if it had begun to see less value in in-person style events such as this. That question seems to have been answered now though, as the firm has confirmed its attendance for 2023.
What we will be seeing from the company this year remains to be seen, and while patents showing them working on a semi-automatic gearbox could feature, we’d have thought we’d have spotted some spy shots of the bike being tested if it were that far along its development path.
We do know that KTM will be exhibiting what it is calling a ‘new stand concept’ at the show, although what that entails is unknown. KTM does have a lot to shout about in 2023, with Kevin Benavides and Toby Price locking out the top two steps of the podium in the Dakar Rally, and not forgetting the team's strong start in MotoGP with wins and podiums, KTM’s racing exploits are sure to be the stars of the stand.
The EICMA show 2023 will begin on Tue, Nov 7, 2023 - Sun, Nov 12, 2023.
