NORTON Motorcycles has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the investment website Crowdcube to secure £1m funding. Once secured they plan to use the capital to help ramp up production of its V4 and 650 model ranges.

Reported in Insider Media, Norton Chief exec, Stuart Garner said: “Norton has a proud history designing and engineering exclusive British motorcycles, and it’s thanks to our skilled workforce and experienced management team which has allowed the brand to thrive and continue to build globally recognised bikes.

"It is thanks to our deep connection with our riders, owners and the motorcycle community that we are following our gift of £1m share to our staff with looking to build a successful long-term shareholder base from the wider community itself.

"Over ten years we have developed a niche in the motorcycle industry for designing stunning motorcycles.

"Producing them in low volume or limited editions, all hand-built at its’ British factory.

"With global distribution in selected territories, we are able to produce viable volume whilst ensuring exclusivity across our network.

"Acknowledging and understanding our proud heritage while moving forward with innovation and forward-thinking.

"Simply put, we love to produce stunning and exclusive motorcycles that are inclusively available to all."

They also report that Norton’s latest accounts, from the 12-months leading up to March 2018, Norton recorded a turnover of £6.7m and made a pre-tax profit of £20,721 after making a loss the previous year. The crowdfunding campaign comes just a couple of months after Norton announced a £multi-million engine deal with Chinese manufacturer Zongshen.
