Jamie Coward will race different machinery at the 2025 Isle of Man TT, after KTS Racing confirmed a switch from Honda to BMW in the superbike and superstock classes.

In the supersport class Coward will remain aboard a Triumph, however, KTS Racing will become the official factory team for the British brand. Coward has become a regular challenger for top five results at the TT in recent years, thus becoming one of the best independent team riders in the field.

Coward will again ride a Street Triple 765, the same bike he finished fourth with on both occasions in the supersport class in 2024. Coward and KTS Racing will be supported in their efforts by the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team.

A competitor at the Isle of Man TT for 12 years, Coward will then line-up aboard a BMW M1000 RR in the ‘big bike’ classes, after riding a Honda previously.

Speaking about the factory support from Triumph, KTS team owner Kevin Watret added: “We’re obviously delighted to be continuing our partnership with Jamie, as we’ve enjoyed some superb results over the last few years.

“We’re equally thrilled to now be the official Triumph team on the roads. Since the formation of KTS Racing in 2019, we have strived for an opportunity like this, and it’s great to see our efforts being rewarded.

“Last year was our first with the Triumph triple, and Jamie more than showed its potential with a fourth-place finish in race two and another personal best lap. We feel there’s even more potential, and with factory support and the combined expertise of our teams, we’re optimistic for a great season ahead.”

The M1000 RR was the bike to be on in 2024, winning the superbike, superstock and senior TT races. Coward admitted it was an easy decision to switch to BMW machinery, saying: “As a team, we sat down to evaluate our options and agreed that BMW was the best way forward and the best package to be on at the TT,” Coward said.

“When you look at the lap speeds, especially the speed trap figures, the BMW has that extra edge. It also suits taller riders better, and the team has secured an ex-Josh Brookes bike, so I’m looking forward to testing it.”
