Jobs lost as Nottingham dealership group Pidcock calls in administrators
Ducati and Triumph dealers shut and 18 jobs are lost as Pidcock Motor Cycles enters administration.
Administrators have been appointed to Nottingham motorcycle dealership Pidcock Motor Cycles following news of job losses at the company.
The firm sells Ducati, BMW and Triumph machinery and has a partnership with Zero Motorcycles and Energica. But financial difficulty following a ‘challenging’ trading period has forced it to cut 18 jobs.
Pidcock has also been forced to close its Ducati and Triumph sites in Beeston and Long Eaton, although its Nottingham site remains operational.
According to The Business Desk, Nathan Jones and John Lowe – partners at FRP Advisory – have this week been appointed as joint administrators .
"Pidcock is not the first retailer to struggle in challenging market conditions over the past year," Jones said.
"The company is a reputable seller, partnered with some of the world’s best-known bike brands, and we’re not surprised that there has been interest from prospective buyers.
"While it’s unfortunate that a viable route forward for all three sites hasn’t been possible, we’re hopeful of a positive outcome for the company’s BMW outlet.
"Securing that, as well as supporting employees affected by the closures, is our focus now."
Pidcock has paused its sales operations but stated it will be available to allow customers who have placed deposits on a new motorcycle to either collect it from the dealership or have their deposits refunded.
